On-site
Air Leakage On-site Design Advice Checklist
1. Build stage
The build stage is crucial for maximising the effectiveness of our walk-through discussions. Whether we’re planning the air pressure test, determining fan placement, or identifying air leakages and potential issues, having the building at the appropriate stage is essential.
2. Drawings
Having a set of floor plans, sections, or even junction details are beneficial for understanding the build, whilst on site. This enables us to examine details thoroughly and make the most of our time.
3. Target
Please inform us of the air leakage target you need the building to meet. This helps us determine the amount of air leakage. Every build is different. This can be found on your SAP if residential or SBEM if it’s a commercial build.
4. Ventilation and temporary air sealing
During our visit, we can review the sealing strategy before the air leakage test. It’s a good opportunity to discuss this with your engineer during our walk-through conversation. If you need temporary air sealing tape, we recommend using air sealing tape from airsealingexpert.co.uk.
5. Parking
We need a parking spot within 20 metres of the plot. If no parking can be provided please notify your relationship manager, as parking charges will be added to the final invoice.
6. Location and site address
We aim to arrive at the designated time window, so to help us be as efficient as we can, let us know if there are any difficulties finding the site. Ideally, send us what3words. For your certification records we will require the registered site address. Please ensure the correct address is used on all correspondence, as changes will incur an additional cost.
7. Signature
A site manager or representative must be present throughout the site visit and be able to provide a signature once we are finished.
