On-site
Background Ventilation Testing Checklist
Residential
1. Location and site address
We aim to arrive at the designated time window, so to help us be as efficient as we can, let us know if there are any difficulties finding the site. Ideally, send us what3words. For your certification records we will require the registered site address. Please ensure the correct address is used on all correspondence, as changes will incur an additional cost.
2. Power
We require 110v / 240v sockets to power our equipment for testing, particularly in the bedrooms.
3. Access
Background ventilation testing often involves testing both the whole house and bedrooms individually. Therefore, we must be able to access the whole property (excluding loft spaces).
4. Door
A blower door fan may be used. Therefore, the front door and internal bedroom doors must be of standard size. The minimum size opening is 700 x 1300mm, and the maximum is 1100 x 2400mm.
5. Parking
We need a parking spot within 20 metres of the property we are testing, as the equipment is heavy and very expensive. If no parking can be provided please notify your relationship manager, as parking charges will be added to the final invoice.
6. Presence
The resident or a representative must be on site whilst our engineer is performing the test itself. Please note, the equipment lets out a short burst of pressure which creates a hissing sound, cats do not like this!
7. Peace of mind
We are experienced in dealing with retrofit projects and understand residents may be vulnerable. Therefore, all of our engineers carry photographic ID which is shown on arrival.
